Pretty awesome accessory for the truck and I love the sound it puts out. Quite when you drive slow but if you want to hear it then just give it some throttle. No noticeable gains but makes the engine look so much cleaner. Gives my new model truck some new muscle sound without always being there so I can still enjoy the quite ride. Very happy I bought it. 2016 Chevy Silverado 1500, 5.3L.

Very simple install if you have spent any time under the hood of your truck. The instructions book the install at ~90 minutes, but was able to complete in around 50. The kit itself comes with everything you need, minus tools. The rubber seal for the air box does need to be trimmed to fit the box, as it is shipped in a generic length. Everything else is direct install out of the box. Performance wise, I would say that I feel a difference, but that may just be personal feelings. I did this in coupling with Borla exhaust on my 2015 Sierra and I love the combination of sounds. After a week and ~250 miles, I'm getting about 1.65 better MPG according to the computer on my standard commutes. You can really hear the engine bark back in between full throttle shifts with the open air box.

Purchased this item not expecting much but a couple of miles per gallon. I had one of these on my Jeep Wrangler, and dit not notice much of a difference. I had a 6 inch lift with 35 inch tires. I put this on my Silverado with a 6 inch lift and 35 tires and i notice a difference right away. The increase in Horse Power and throttle was amazing. It also sounds amazing. I have the stock exhaust and still notice a huge difference in sound and power. It only took me about 20 minutes to install, and I am not a good mechanic. I would highly recommend this to anyone that has a 5.3 Silverado.

I picked up a really good used 2014 Silverado about a month ago. My old truck had many performance mods to it and I told myself I was done doing this. Well that didn't work as planned. I figured getting air in was the first step. My K&N kit came today and I just got done installing it. It was a real straight forward install and the instructions that came with the kit were very clear. To soon to tell if there was an increase in MPG but the throttle response is quicker and the sound is really something when you get on it. I've used K&N products for years and as always it is top quality.

I picked this up for my 2015 Silverado 1500 with the 5.3 in it. I installed it in about an hour and not being a mechanic I was pretty proud of myself. To be honest the directions were exceptional. After the install I've noticed my gas mileage is better by about 1-2mpg but the throttle response is what has impressed me the most. If you've been thinking about purchasing this I would highly recommend doing it.

Great product! Not sure about the gas mileage yet but i can definitely feel the extra power and it sounds great paired with the Flowmaster Super 10 exhaust. Just a word of caution: the NPT valve pictured here is VERY EASY to break. It didn't feel tight enough so i kept turning it and then it snapped. I called K&N customer service and they overnighted me one free of charge. It arrived by 9AM the next morning and i was back in business. It sucks that the plastic is kind of cheap but the customer service more than made up for it. I highly reccomend!

I have a 2018 Chevy 1500 6.2L V8. To be fair I do have the Black OPS Badlander edition that comes with installed flow master dual exhaust. The truck sounded great with out this and I was a little worried that it would become obnoxious when driving. To my surprise that was not the case at all. It sounds much better on start up and when you floor the gas pedal you hear it. But other then that it just sounds like a high Pro motor at idle and not the loud obnoxious teenager broken glass pack sound. I’m dating myself with that statement I know. Oh I forgot to mention my dyno test went from 489hp to 512hp. My truck is super chipped and mapped properly. It is a noticeable difference from the crappy (more expensive GM intake) you can definitely feel and hear the difference. I raced a 2019 Mustang 5.0 and had it by 2 car lengths on a quarter mile. With a jacked up mud machine.

This is the third intake I've tried on my 2015 Silverado 5.3L. The first one was an SLP Blackwing that was so loud, I eventually took it off. It sounded good, but just way too much for me. Next I tried the Airaid MIT which is just the tube. Nice improvement in low-end feel, and noticeable small boost in high RPM power, but little to no sound over stock. Lastly, this K&N unit which seems to be the best of the three... The tube has a chrome-ish finish and looks nice. I noticed an immediate improvement in low-end throttle response, same as with the Airaid. The tires now want to break loose when accelerating out of a corner, which was not happening with the stock box. The sound is good, pretty much non-existent during cruising, but moderate to heavy throttle produces a satisfying growl that is nowhere near as obnoxious as the SLP unit. Sounds like a truck now, and nicely complements my OEM Borla muffler system. Overall very pleased with this, I'm planning to stick with this one. Truck runs fine, no check engine lights or anything. I am not exactly sure why the SLP was so loud, but the differences are that it had a plastic tube (which is an option on the K&N as well), and also the surround for the filter element was basically a plastic tub, instead of only two-sided metal like the K&N. I must assume that the plastic pieces just produced more resonance and volume...

Why truck owners don't add these intakes before anything else is a mystery to me considering ease of install, price point, additional power/sound and fuel savings. Again, these are very easy to install. Free advise: take your time! More free advise: there's a great video on YouTube that gives a super simple, step by step how to on installing this intake. I put this on a 2015 GMC Sierra z71 4x4 Crew Cab and it took 45 minutes at most. Adds an intense roar when getting on the highway and the power gain is very noticeable. Probably adds 2 more mpg on average as well (anyone that says it adds 5 or 6 mpg is INCORRECT). I also added a flowmaster 40 series cat back dual out muffler/exhaust system that really compliments the K&N intakes.

I have a 6.2L Chevy Silverado 1500. Slight improvement on engine growl. Not super noticeable over my Borla Atak exhaust. However I hear slight drone in my exhaust now at highway speeds. I hope this goes away with time. Gas mileage seems to have gone up 2 to 3 mpg!
